Happenings on The Hill

Here's a summary of new developments on New Harbor Hill and the Pemaquid Peninsula over the last year. A good chance to catch up on news if you weren't able to make it last year!

A New Bank

New Harbor's little bank (Damariscotta Savings Bank) next to C. E. Reilly's grocery store was torn down on January 30, so that the merger Bangor Savings Bank can build a new one. There will be a new ATM for last minute cash.

The Sea Gull Shop Rebuilds

Tragically, the Sea Gull burned on September 9, 2020. Local firemen were able to contain the fire from spreading. No one was hurt. They have laid a foundation for a new building and plan to reopen for the 2021 season. See their progress with the Sea Gull WebCam. You can donate to their fundraiser HERE.

Restoration of the Bristol Mills Dam

The Bristol Mills Dam is being repaired this winter and the fish ladder will be reconstructed to facilitate alwife passage.
