DEPOSITS We
ask for a deposit of 25% by the end of January. This helps us to know who
is coming and what cottages we have available to rent. We are a seasonal
weekly rental business and we book 95% of our weekly rentals in the winter
months. The deposit not only holds your place in that cottage and time, it
also recoups for us some of the loss of rent for that time in case of
cancellation. The balance is due when you arrive. If
we have not heard from you by the end of January (or fairly soon after
making the reservation) we will usually contact you to see if you are
still interested because we will lose the chance to rent the space as time
goes on. We
ask that you let us know as soon as possible if you cannot keep your
reservation. If you are not sure of your plans, we may well have a cottage
available for the time you want when you have more information. The
cottage we have for you may not be your favorite cottage, but we want you
to know that our customers are usually very pleased after stepping outside
the box and trying another cottage! Cancellations: We return deposits only if the cancellation occurs 45 days or more before
the reservation and if we are able to re-rent the cottage for the entire
time without losing money. If we hold a space for someone until May and it
is cancelled, we most often lose the rent for that period. The deposit
ensures that we recoup a small part of the loss when that happens. Check-In
Time: We have no set check-in time. You can go into the cottage when it is
cleaned and ready. We take the time to make sure the cottage is very clean
rather than have our staff working against the clock. Everything is
usually ready by mid-afternoon. On Saturday mornings we are normally working around the property getting
things ready and are not in the office until around noon. If you arrive
before noon you may have to wait for us to return. If you call before noon
on Saturday you will need to leave a message and we will return your call
promptly when we are back in the office. Check-Out
Time: Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. No later, please; we need the time to get
the cottage ready for the next arrival. It helps us to know if you are
leaving before 8 a.m. That gives us a place to start. Since we are not in
the office on Saturday mornings, it is best to check with us about next
year during the week or on Friday. Pets: We do not accept pets. This includes dogs, cats, and any other animals.
We do not allow pets to visit in the cottages; many of our guests have
allergies and the dander can linger. We do not allow pets to be kept in
the car or camper in the parking lot, and we will hold firm to this.
